Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam is a Professor of Department of Development Studies in Dhaka University. He has been engaged in the academia and development practices for quite many years as a development professional with experience in disaster and governance, climate change policy, local governance, gender mainstreaming program design and evaluation and application of ICTs in local government service delivery in particular; advocacy training and capacity building of civil service and NGOs, and governance of primary Health Care. He has extensive works on political economy of public and private sector initiatives and strategies for disaster risk reduction in Bangladesh. He has undertaken a series of research, training and capacity development activities in recent years for several international organizations like The Asia Foundation, UNDP, CARE Bangladesh, UNICEF, WaterAid Bangladesh. He has experience in Studying impact of DRR Framework implemented through SHOUHARDO of CARE Bangladesh as a National Consultant. He also served as a member of several study teams like Understanding Coping Strategy of People with Disability to Natural Disasters (2008); Community Risk Assessment of Narail Sadar Upazila (2008), Thematic Study on Institution, Accountability and Empowerment of Local Government in Bangladesh (CARE ). Besides, he has experience in local governance and has worked as Governance and Institutional Specialist in a study team conducting Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment
Khodadad Hossain Sarker has wide ranging strategic and program leadership experience with strong analytical, conceptual and strategic planning skills. He has proven ability in the management of a range of development and humanitarian programs involving a diverse and complex range of partners and stakeholders including NGOs, government and donors. He has expertise in disaster risk management, food security and livelihoods. He is expert in quantitative data analysis. Ms. Tahmina Rahman is experienced, motivated, and highly committed to gender equality and dynamic Programme personnel. She has worked 10 years in Oxfam GB at national and international level and 3 years with local organization in Bangladesh. Dr. Mohammad Shakil Akhter is as a Professor of Department of Urban and Regional Planning in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He obtained Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Engineering, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan in 2007, Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden in 1998 and Bachelor of Urban and Rural Planning, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh in 1995. He has more than 12 years experience in teaching and more than 10 years experience in development field. He has wide range of experience in data analysis and reporting. He possesses an extensive knowledge and experience of data management and quantitative data management and data analysis. He has lots of experiences in data analysis and report writing. Also, he has wide range of experience in the research field. He has written more than 17 articles with his wide range of experience which has been published in the prestigious journals and organizations.
MD Abdul Wahed has twenty four years of working experiences in multi donor funded (e.g. ECHO, OFDA, SDC, DFID, DIPECHO, UN, MOFA-Norway etc.) large scale program design, strategic planning and management particularly with focus on food security & livelihood and humanitarian affairs including preparedness, response, early recovery and rehabilitation directly and in partnership with local NGOs and Government line ministry/departments. Familiar with UNDMT, cluster approach functions, humanitarian accountability and Sphere standards. Through these experiences has enriched my accountability and creativity, integrity and teamwork capacity, commitment and excellence, communication skills, over and above developed my innovative and visionary leadership.
Mr. Shyamal Kanti Barman is experienced in the area of sub-sector study, livelihood study and organizational developments. These key professional competencies have gathered through intensive involvement with the donor organizations, government agencies, large and small NGOs for over 17 years. He has perception and widely practiced participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation. He has wide range of experience in pond aquaculture, cage aquaculture, rice-fish, community based fisheries resource management in fresh and brackish water, shrimp farming, etc. He has also wide range of experience of understanding and improving natural resource-based livelihoods. He has expertise in applying principals of participatory technology development for addressing problems of the farmers to develop a sustainable aquaculture technology. He has participated in several impact evaluation and mid-term review of the development projects. He has successfully delivered OD programs within changing organizational context together with an in-depth knowledge of a range of leadership and OD tools. He demonstrates diversified skills in group training, staff development and capacity building of NGOs. He exercises with a very good conception of different tools and techniques of PLA, PRA and RRA.
Mr. Narayan Kumar Bhowmick is a training module development and facilitation expert. He has over 18 years experience in the field of development. He has extensive working experiences on Training Module development and course conduction on various organizational development issues. In addition to that he has experience to develop a number of interactive communication materials. He has wide range of experience in developing flash cards, posters, CLTS manual, audio scripts for radio and video documentary films and so on. He has experience in Training need assessment, course designing, conducting training monitoring and follow up, material preparation, facilitation skill in different training courses, project planning and management. He has wide range of experience in conducting social mobilization and capacity building of Local Government Institutions with a view to enhance their level of development program implementation in all over the country.
