  • Data entry in various platforms e.g. Kobo collect, Excel etc.;
  • Prepare monthly disaster situation report;
  • Assist in communication with project team members and other stakeholders as and when required;
  • Sometimes need to go to the field for data collection
  • Provide any other tasks assigned by the organization

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Documentation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team with a high degree of integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Sound knowledge in disaster management

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide support in convening regular meetings, drafting and distributing the agenda and minutes as and when necessary.
  2. Support to prepare work plan, monitor progress of the implementation of the work plan and action points from the meetings.
  3. Assist in preparing and disseminating daily/ monthly report on hazards and disasters in Bangladesh.
  4. Assist in conducting research including data collection, analysis and report writing.
  5. Assist in providing technical support to members as well as other development organizations for developing DRM policy, strategy, training module and handbook.
  6. Assist in facilitating training events and conducting workshops.
  7. Assist in promoting global initiatives of humanitarian assistance e.g. Accountability, CHS, Sphpere Minimum Standards.
  8. Liaise with member organizations, Government, UN organizations and other organizations in the field of disaster management.
  9. Assist in strengthening the networking in Bangladesh and abroad.
  10. Support local and national actors to maintain close coordination with the wider humanitarian community in humanitarian response.
  11. Visit member organizations to see their disaster related activities.
  12. Facilitate the flow of communication in the organization.
  13. Perform other duties as and when necessary as directed by the Head of Organization/Supervisor.

 

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and SPSS.
  • Good analytical skills and good drafting capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a team with high degree of integrity and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, facilitation and mobilization skills.
  • Advance internet browsing and computer skill.

NIRAPAD plays a significant role in DRM sector through generating and disseminating knowledge, providing technical support in DRR and CCA and maintaining partnership and collaboration with humanitarian organisations.

NIRAPAD is currently looking for young, dynamic and result oriented personnel for the following position:

Position: Accounts Officer

No. of Vacancy: 01

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all kind of vouchers and maintain books of accounts;
  • Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement;
  • Prepare monthly financial statement;
  • Manage Cash and Bank transactions;
  • Cheque writing & disbursement and Custodian Cash & Cheque book;
  • Process Procurement goods and services;
  • Manage Store and fixed assets;
  • Keep all financial books and records updated for the audit of the organization's accounts;
  • Ensure deduction of Vat, Tax before payment to vendor & consultant and timely deposit to govt. treasury;
  • Maintain Tax & VAT Register as per requirement of NGOAB/Govt.
  • Provide support External and Donor Audit;
  • Assist to prepare yearly financial statement;
  • Provide timely logistic support to program department for implementing the program;
  • Provide any other relevant tasks assigned by the Authority.

Required Entry Qualifications and Competencies

  • Masters in Commerce (M. Com.)/MBA (major in Accounting and Finance) or relevant subject.
  • At least 2-3 year(s), working experience in financial management of donor funded project preferably with NGO.
  • Proven skill in financial management, GAAP, VAT, Tax, etc.
  • Proficiency in computer, Microsoft office (Word, excel, PowerPoint) and email communication are essential.
  • Good administrative and leadership skills, ability to work in a team, good interpersonal skill, organizing and problem solving abilities and good skill in Office Management.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bengali.
  • Clear concept on different procurement/payment procedure.
  • Facilitation of Internal and external audit.
  • Hands-on experience on Tally or other Accounting software.

Job Location: Dhaka (20% field visit)

Salary: Tk. 25,000.00 – Tk. 30,000.00 (Based on prior experience)

Our honorable vice-chairman, Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed who was working with Gana Unnayan Prochesta (GUP) has passed away today morning (3:30 am, 27th July) at Ahmed Medical Center, Dhaka (inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun). We pray to Almighty Allah for eternal peace of his departed soul and we express our heartfelt sympathy to the all members of the bereaved family. We also hope that they will find the strength to bear this loss.
